Fit & Lazy Dog Mom Life

Thinking about getting a puppy? If you think you’re ready, just do it. For many, many reasons, getting a puppy was by far the best decision I have ever made. This little man (pictured below) has seriously improved my overall health – mental and physical. Here are the 4 biggest reasons why getting a puppy was the best thing I ever did for my well-being (fitness included)!

  1. He forces us to go outside. Regardless of the weather. Hurricane, 105 degrees, 15 degrees, doesn’t matter. Guys gotta go. I might hate it at the time, but on the beautiful days I appreciate the excuse to get out of the house.
  2. He needs exercise. Which, in turn, means I get it too. It may not be much, but he does force me to move a little bit at least once a day.
  3. He makes us wake up early. I mean, waking up at 6am isn’t terrible when you’re getting a face full of puppy kisses, followed by at least 10 minutes of snuggles.
  4. We eat at home WAY more. Especially when Tully was a puppy, we found ourselves eating at home/cooking our meals WAY more often. Mostly because we love spending time with him but we also hated leaving him home alone when he was a little guy.
